Why the possum is released on your property
This surprises people, so it is worth saying plainly. A possum caught in your roof cannot lawfully be taken away and let go somewhere else - it has to be released on the same property, at dusk, close to where it was caught. That is not us being difficult: possums are territorial, and one dropped into another possum's range rarely survives. It also means the honest position is that catching the animal deals with tonight's problem, not with the gap it came in through.
What we don't do
We don't seal, mesh or proof roofs, and we won't pretend otherwise. Closing up the entry points is a roofing job and it needs those skills to be done properly. If you want the roof made possum-proof after we have removed the animal, that is work for a roofing trade - we will tell you what we saw while we were up there, but the repair itself is not our service. That also scopes our satisfaction guarantee: it covers the removal being carried out properly and humanely, not whether a gap we were never asked to close gets used again.

Can you take the possum away with you?
No, and nobody lawfully can. A possum caught on your property has to be released back onto that property, at dusk, close to where it was caught. Moving it somewhere else is regulated and, in practice, a death sentence for the animal - it has no den in an occupied range. So the possum stays on your block; what changes is that it is out of your roof.
What's actually making the noise in my roof?
Heavy, deliberate thumping and movement across the ceiling is usually a possum. Light, fast scurrying and scratching is more often rats or mice. If you are not sure, describe what you are hearing and when - the pattern usually tells us which it is.
Do you seal or mesh the entry points afterwards?
No. We remove the animal; we do not do roof sealing, meshing or proofing work. Closing the gap it used is a roofing job and it should be done by a trade with those skills. We would rather tell you that up front than take the job and do it badly.
Will the possum get back into my roof?
It can, and we would rather be straight with you about that than sell you a false promise. Because the release has to happen on your property, the animal is still nearby, and if the way in is still open it may use it again. Getting the entry points closed by a roofer is what stops that happening - it is the part that makes the removal stick.
