A warehouse is a rodent problem before it is anything else
Warehouses are large, open and constantly breached by roller doors and loading docks, which makes them a rodent problem before anything else. Pallets, cardboard and stored goods give shelter; the perimeter is where the pressure comes in. The work is about the boundary and the monitoring, not about spraying a floor.
- Warehouses, storage facilities and industrial units
- Rodents — rats and mice — as the primary risk
- Cockroaches, spiders, ants and flies
- Perimeter treatment and entry-point identification
- Roller doors, loading docks, racking and pallet storage

Control the perimeter, not the floor
A warehouse cannot be sealed — doors open all day, deliveries arrive constantly, and the building shares its boundary with whatever is outside it. So the work is a maintained perimeter and scheduled monitoring rather than a one-off internal treatment, and the measure of success is that the population never establishes inside.
Birds get in through the same doors the forklifts use
High-bay warehouses have a bird problem that smaller commercial sites do not. Roller doors stand open through the working day, and once pigeons or starlings are inside they nest in the roof steel, above racking and on light fittings — well out of reach of anything a broom will fix. The cost is rarely the birds themselves: it is droppings over stock, packaging and pick faces, fouled racking that has to be cleaned before goods can ship, and pressure that returns every season because the nesting site is still there. Netting, mesh and spiking are the durable answer, applied to the roof steel and the ledges they actually use, and it is worth quoting alongside the rodent programme rather than as a separate job later.
How a commercial job runs
- 1
Tell us the site and the constraints
Call or send the form with the site address, your operating hours, and any areas or times that are off-limits. The more we know about how the site runs, the better we can plan around it.
- 2
We treat the whole premises
Interior treatment, exterior perimeter treatment, and the service areas, voids and subfloors where the population actually lives — scheduled out of hours where that suits.
- 3
You get the documentation
A record of the treatment carried out, for your own file, plus plain advice on the site conditions driving the pressure.

Get my free quoteWhat is the main pest risk in a warehouse?
Rodents, by a distance. Roller doors and loading docks are permanent entry points, and pallets, cardboard and stored goods provide shelter. Most warehouse work is a maintained perimeter with scheduled monitoring rather than a single internal treatment.
Can you work around our operating hours?
Yes. Our team operates 24 hours a day, so we can attend outside shift times or during a quiet window. Tell us how the site runs when you call.
Do you treat stored goods directly?
No — we treat the structure, the perimeter and the harbourage around stored goods, not the goods themselves. If you store food or sensitive product, tell us when you call so we can plan the approach and placement around it.
Is this a one-off or ongoing?
Ongoing, in almost every case. A warehouse cannot be sealed, so pressure returns continuously and the value is in monitoring that catches it early. We will recommend a frequency based on the site.
We have birds nesting in the roof steel. Can you deal with that?
Yes — bird proofing is one of our services. The durable fix is physical: netting, mesh or spiking applied to the roof steel, ledges and light fittings the birds actually use, so the nesting site stops being available. Clearing droppings without closing the site off only buys you a season. Tell us the roof height and whether the affected area sits over stock or a pick face when you call, because that changes both the access equipment and the order we do things in.
Does the yard outside matter, or just the building?
The yard is usually where it starts. Vegetation grown up against the wall, pallets stacked along the boundary, bins parked beside a roller door and hardstand edges with cover all give rodents a route to the building and somewhere to live while they use it. We treat the external perimeter as part of the job and will tell you which yard conditions are undoing it — that part is housekeeping rather than chemistry, and it is usually the cheapest change available to you.
