Ticks wait in the yard, not in the house

Ticks come onto a property on pets and wildlife and settle where it is shaded, humid and sheltered — garden beds, long grass, leaf litter, fence lines and the spots pets lie in. They do not build up indoors the way fleas do, which is why a treatment aimed only at the house misses the source entirely. We treat the outdoor areas where they actually are, along with the interior and perimeter where that is warranted.

  • Shaded garden beds, leaf litter, long grass and fence lines
  • The areas pets rest, sleep and move through
  • Yard and exterior perimeter treatment
  • Interior treatment where activity has been carried inside
  • Family- and pet-safe products, applied by licensed technicians
  • Advice on the yard conditions that keep bringing them back

The same process as a flea treatment, a different product

The method is the same one we use for fleas — identify where the population actually sits, prepare the areas, then treat the property rather than the spot where you noticed them. What changes is the product: ticks are treated with a different chemical to fleas, matched to where they harbour. If you have both, say so when you call and we will cover both in the one visit.

How the treatment runs

  1. 1

Tell us where you found them

Call or send the form with your suburb, whether there are pets on the property, and where ticks have been found — on a pet, on a person, or in a particular part of the yard. Same-day and next-day bookings are available and the team operates 24 hours a day.

  2. 2

    We prepare and treat

We will tell you what helps before we arrive — usually mowing, clearing leaf litter and cutting back shaded growth, which removes the harbourage and lets the treatment reach what is left. Then we treat the yard, the shaded harbourage areas, the exterior perimeter and, where needed, inside.

  3. 3

We tell you what to expect

We explain plainly what the treatment covers, how long it holds in your conditions, and which parts of the yard will keep drawing ticks back if they are left as they are. If the property backs onto bush or reserve, we will be straight with you about ongoing pressure rather than promising it is over.

We treat the property, your vet treats your pet

Treating an animal for ticks is a job for your vet, and so is any question about a tick found on a pet or a person — including which product is right for your animal and what to do about a bite. That is genuinely outside what a pest technician should be advising on. What we do is remove the population from the property so there is far less for your pet to pick up. The two together are what actually works.

Do you treat ticks in the yard as well as inside?

The yard is the main event for ticks. They come in on pets and wildlife and settle into shaded garden beds, leaf litter, long grass and the areas pets rest in, so treating only indoors leaves the source untouched. We treat the shaded outdoor harbourage and the exterior perimeter, and inside as well where activity has been carried in.

Is it the same treatment as fleas?

Same process, different product. The approach is identical — find where the population actually sits and treat that rather than where you spotted one — but ticks are treated with a different chemical to fleas, matched to where they harbour. If you have both, tell us when you book and we will cover both in the one visit.

Can you treat my pet for ticks?

No, and we would not try. Treating the animal is a job for your vet, and so is any question about a tick found on a pet or a person. Speak to them about the right product for your animal. We treat the property — the yard, the shaded beds and the harbourage where the population lives — so there is far less for your pet to pick up.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive?

It helps a lot. Mowing, clearing leaf litter and cutting back shaded growth removes the harbourage ticks rely on and lets the treatment reach what is left. We will give you the specific list when you book.

How much is a tick treatment?

A tick treatment is priced the same as a flea treatment. The final price is confirmed before any work starts and depends on the size of the property and how much shaded harbourage there is to cover.

We back onto bush. Will one treatment be enough?

Honestly, often not on its own. A property adjoining bush or reserve has ticks arriving continuously on wildlife, so a single treatment reduces the population rather than ending the pressure. We will tell you that on the day rather than after, and talk through whether a scheduled treatment through the warmer months makes more sense for your property.
