The kitchen is a commercial kitchen, and the dry store is where it hides
A facility kitchen runs at commercial scale — servery, cool room, laundry and a dry store holding bulk flour, rice, cereal and sugar. Bulk dry goods bring their own problem: stored-product pests such as weevils and small beetles arrive inside a delivery rather than walking in from outside, so perimeter treatment alone will never touch them. They are usually found by a kitchen hand rather than reported as a pest sighting, and the fix is to trace the infested stock and treat the store, not to spray the room. We check the dry store and the cool room as a matter of course, and if it came in with a delivery we will tell you plainly so it can go back to the supplier.

Can you attend at a time that suits the facility?
Yes. Our team operates 24 hours a day and we schedule around meals, activities and rest periods. Tell us which areas and times are off-limits when you call.
Are the products safe around residents?
Our treatments are family- and pet-safe, and in an occupied setting placement is a deliberate part of the job — treatment goes into voids, perimeters and service areas rather than open surfaces. We will tell you exactly where it has been placed and when each area is ready.
Do you provide documentation for our compliance file?
You get a record of the treatment we carried out for your file. To be precise: we document our own treatment. We do not issue accreditation or compliance certificates and would not claim to guarantee any accreditation outcome.
We have a memory support unit. Does that change how you treat it?
Yes, and it is worth raising when you call. In memory support the assumption that a resident will read a sign, avoid an area or leave a station alone does not hold, so treatment goes where it cannot be reached or interfered with, and we work with staff on timing rather than relying on notices. We would rather plan that with your clinical lead than improvise it on the day.
We found weevils in the dry store. Is that the same job?
It is a different problem with the same visit. Weevils and small beetles in bulk flour, rice or cereal are stored-product pests, and they almost always arrive inside a delivery rather than walking in, so treating the room does not solve it. We trace it back to the affected stock, treat the store, and tell you plainly if it came in with a supplier so you can take it up with them.
